ABOUT KAREN

I'm Karen Hensley. I own and run Karen’s Piano Studio in downtown San Rafael where I've been teaching Simply Music since 2008.
 
My musical background includes traditional piano lessons all through grammar school, flute through middle school, and many years of Simply Music piano lessons as an adult.  I've sung in choirs, played in a rock and roll dance band and been a member of several dance troupes.  Music and dance continue to be an enriching and satisfying part of my everyday life.
 
I became acquainted with Simply Music through close friends who had been teaching the method for several years.  I decided to take some lessons to see for myself the amazing results I had heard about.
 
The learning experience was fun, right from the start! We were taught things that my traditional teachers never touched throughout all those years of traditional lessons. I decided to begin teaching and opened the doors to my first students in 2008.

It's extremely gratifying to share music with my students, and to teach in a way that gives such a sense of accomplishment and immediate results from the very beginning!
