Music Isn't Just What I Do- It's a Huge Part of Who I Am.

Hi there! I'm Karen Hensley, and I've been teaching at Karen's Piano Studio in downtown San Rafael since 2008. What started as my own musical journey has blossomed into a passion for helping others discover the pure joy of making music.
 
My musical adventure began early on with traditional piano lessons all through grammar school, followed by learning to play flute in middle school. Later, as an adult I sang in a choir, played flute in a local dance band, and was part of a dance troupe. Music and movement continue to be a huge part of my daily life.
 
But here's the game-changer: as an adult, I discovered Simply Music—and everything shifted. Suddenly, I wasn't just playing notes; I was creating music that moved me and everyone around me.

When close friends who were Simply Music teachers kept raving about their "amazing results," I had to see for myself. Those first lessons? Amazing! I was learning things that years of traditional lessons had never even touched. The approach was fresh, intuitive, and—most importantly--fun from day one.  That's when I decided to share this gift and begin to teach.

Since opening my studio doors in 2008, I've watched countless students experience that same "aha!" moment I had. There's nothing quite like seeing someone play their first song within minutes of sitting down at the piano, or watching a hesitant beginner transform into a confident musician.

I don't just teach piano—I unlock musical potential. Every lesson is designed to give you that incredible sense of accomplishment and immediate results that traditional methods often miss. When learning is joyful, everything else falls into place.
